WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao faces challenger Jeff Horn Saturday night in the biggest boxing match ever to take place in Australia.
The “Battle of Brisbane” expects a live crowd of nearly 60,000 at Suncorp Stadium to watch their hometown fighter Horn (16-0-1, 11 KOs) take on Pacquiao (59-6-2 38 KOs), the fighting senator from the Philippines.
Horn is a former school teacher who has come up with a 10-point plan to defeat the 38-year-old Pacquiao, who is expected to make $10 million for his night’s work. Horn, on the other hand, will make $500,000.
The fight, the first of Top Rank’s partnership with ESPN, will begin at 10 p.m. ET Saturday night. USA TODAY Sports will provide a round-by-round report of the fight.
