ATLANTIC CITY– Police Monday confiscated dozens of BB guns from a Boardwalk shop because they appeared too much like actual firearms.

Officers spotted the guns at the Bags and Accessories store. Police seized a total of 62 guns after determining that, with the exception of a removable, bright orange tip, the toy guns were indistinguishable from lethal weapons.

In 2014, Atlantic City joined several other communities nationwide in passing a ban on realistic toy guns because of the danger they could be confused for the real thing.
